I cup my hands in your shallows and carry a dripping pool of you up the mud and silt to the page and you run down spilling into channels finding a path. - Letter to the River Great Ouse
I made these mud spills on the banks of the River Great Ouse by laying rice paper on the mud and roots with stones holding it in place. Mud, water, watercolour and India ink were used to create muddy rivers, dancing figures, tangled roots.
The Rivers Run Through Us collection an outpouring of love for our rivers. These works shimmering with movement and flow will fill your walls with earth and make you feel alive.
